Car #11 T. Neuville - M.Wydaeghe (Hyundai i20 N Rally1): "It was the hardest day you could imagine for Rally Sardinia to open the road. Tough day for us, luckily it was only half a day. We did good tyre management even if we did not have the best tyre choice. I was completely wrong with the tyre choice: six would have been better. We carry on. We managed well here, I pushed hard”.”

Car #33 E. Evans - S. Martin (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1): "[Feeling sorry for myself?] No, I cannot feel that way. It is me behind the wheel at the end of the day. I am disappointed with the day. It was a really c**p way to start. We will keep trying tomorrow and let's see what comes at the end of the event”.

Car #8 O. Tänak - M. Järveoja (Hyundai i20 N Rally1): “It was really high grip now. On the start line I was going to stage mode and it's all at zero again”

Car #27 A. Fourmaux - A.Coria (Ford Puma Rally1): [out, working on the car – electric issue]

Car #17 S. Ogier - V. Landais (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1): "It is good. We lost a bit of time passing Adrien in this one. Maybe, we can get that back, let's see. It has been extremely rough and extremely demanding on the tyres. I am happy we made it, it was challenging with five tyres”.

Car #18 T. Katsuta - A. Johnston (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1): ”I do not know. I did not feel so good all day, I need to find out why. There is still a long way to go. We need to keep pushing and find a solution to be better”.

Car #6 D. Sordo - C. Carrera (Hyundai i20 N Rally1): “P3 is really good. It was so difficult to keep the tyres in a good shape. We made a small mistake this morning with the spare tyres when they put the rear tyre in the boot. We are humans, sometimes we make mistakes. Four hards and one soft was on the limit but we managed in the end”.

Car #13 G. Munster - L. Louka (Ford Puma Rally1): "In the stage before we did quite a good time but had a small moment near the end. Just clipped a bit the rear left, but nothing major. This one was really rough, we slalomed between the rocks and did not want to take too much risk”.

Car #20 Y. Rossel - B. Boulloud (Citroen C3 Rally2): “I had a puncture. I touched nothing at the beginning, maybe a little low pressure. I do not know. Let's see tomorrow, I will start behind, keep the fight on and show the speed of the driver, co-driver and the car”

Car #22 N. Gryazin – K. Aleksandrov (Citroen C3 Rally2): “In this one it was working and I tried to drive smooth. In the last part a tried to go sideways and I tried to push more. We also changed some settings but the surface and grip changes so it is difficult to conclude that the changes helped”.

Car #23 N. Ciamin - Y. Roche (Hyundai i20 N Rally2): “For sure the more I drive the better I get and I know the stages a bit more. Not a great run, but OK. No serious mistakes. Quite rough in places. We will have rougher conditions in the rest of the rally”

Car #31 J. Solans - R. Sanjuan (Toyota GR Yaris Rally2): “I need to go, I am sorry. It was a stupid mistake from my side” [broken left suspension]

Car #26 L. Joona - J. Hussi (Skoda Fabia RS Rally2): “Tomorrow is another day. It was not a perfect performance for me today. We improved at the end of the day. We will try to push tomorrow. It will be a rough rally, anything can happen and I am happy to be here”.

Car #27 G. Linnmäe - J. Morgan (Toyota GR Yaris Rally2): “It was a decent run. The tyres are completely gone, but I guess it is the same for everyone. We had a better second loop. It seems the car works better when the grip is better and  the road is more destroyed. We need to think about that for the setup of tomorrow morning”

Car #47 J. McErlean - J. Fulton (Skoda Fabia RS Rally2): “It has been a good day. The rear left was on the canvas. Hitting a bank on the first stage screwed up our tyre plans, but we are here and in a good position, which is good”

Car #25 S. Pajari - E. Mälkönen (Toyota GR Yaris Rally2):  “That was the plan. We tried to do our best. We had a good pre-event test. I am really enjoying the car. We had all the ingredients to do this. I was also leading last year after the first day, so it is like repeating it”

Car #28 K. Kajetanowicz - M. Szczepaniak (Skoda Fabia RS Rally2): “Difficult day without service. I was trying to find a good setup for me. The car is OK, but I need to find something for my driving style. It is getting better and better”.

Car #11 T. Neuville - M.Wydaeghe (Hyundai i20 N Rally1): "I pushed very hard a bit less cleaning but still tricky the uphill is so loose in some parts impossible to find grip”

Car #33 E. Evans - S. Martin (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1): "Very difficult. I was not expecting this. Only one  spare is now not a good choice ”

Car #8 O. Tänak - M. Järveoja (Hyundai i20 N Rally1): “ I had no hybrid before the stage, quite slippery so very challenging, quite slippery in some sections so hope we don’t lose too much”

Car #27 A. Fourmaux - A.Coria (Ford Puma Rally1) .”Very slippery so I am fighting a lot with the car but this was expected.”

Car #17 S. Ogier - V. Landais (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1): " Everything is ok, we were a bit more careful on this one, tyres are good it is not a big issue ( reduced gap from Ott Tanak)”

Car #22 N. Gryazin – K. Aleksandrov (Citroen C3 Rally2): “ Tried to be more aggressive I went off too much from the line, so probably better go back like on the first one”

Car #23 N. Ciamin - Y. Roche (Hyundai i20 N Rally2): “ Not a bad stage here it is difficult to understand. Very slippery and on hard tyres the grip is low.”

Car #31 J. Solans - R. Sanjuan (Toyota GR Yaris Rally2): “ Better feeling, we still need to find a better feeling with the car.”

Car #26 L. Joona - J. Hussi (Skoda Fabia RS Rally2): “ At the beginning struggling a lot with the grip, very slippery, it’s hard to find a good rhythm and save the tyres”

Car #27 G. Linnmäe - J. Morgan (Toyota GR Yaris Rally2): “Not too bad at the moment, difficult to place the car. It’s not driving so bad at the minute”

Car #47 J. McErlean - J. Fulton (Skoda Fabia RS Rally2): “Very hard to manage the tyres. Very happy that we are still here. Let’s see how the second pass goes.”

Car #44 F. Zaldivar - M. Der Ohannesian (Skoda Fabia RS Rally2): “ Quite a big challenge. First stage was difficult on tyres and the second was slippery. We had a small off in a short corner the speed was not correct ”

Car #40 P.L. Loubet - L. Pascaud (Skoda Fabia RS Rally2): “Good stage, the car was amazing. I was very careful with the tires in the first one. Very difficult and tricky for the tyres, for everything”

Car #46 R. Virves - A. Lesk (Skoda Fabia RS Rally2): “The last rally  was last year at Acropolis. It feels great and I am trying to get back.”

Car #48 M. Prokop - M. Ernst (Skoda Fabia RS Rally2): “ The experience [19 times in Sardinia] is really useful, we are changing the pace notes and my co-driver got lost so I was driving from my memory ”

Car #34 R. Daprà – L. Guglielmetti (Skoda Fabia Rally2): “It’s crazy, it’s fantastic. Home rally. It’s a bit tricky, especially the last stage. We are trying to find a good pace and a good rhythm to finish the rally. We are enjoying it a lot. We want to continue in this way”
