Car #17 S. Ogier - V. Landais (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1): “It is gonna get quicker, but it was a good stage for me. I was on the limit of the grip I had. Good stage. The key is to try and do as much as you can... I have been running first on the road for many years, I am used to low grip... Be smooth, carry maximum speed through and cutting the corners" [10.3s quicker than Evans]

Car #1 T. Neuville - M.Wydaeghe (Hyundai i20 N Rally1): "I am surprised. It did not feel that good, but it is a good time. I know there is more to come from us so we must be pleased with the start. I am surprised to be honest. Usually I take it a bit more steady in the first stages, trying to learn and feel the car. But it seemed to work. There is a bit of cleaning as well, but not as much as we could have expected"

Car #5 S.Pajari - M.Salminen (Toyota GR Yaris Rally1): “Quite OK, I must say. Still not so easy to find the perfect flow. The grip in some places was already quite OK and then suddenly it is not. Try to be really clean. Road position is helping. I do not know how much. It is fine"

Car #13 G.Munster - L. Louka (Ford Puma Rally1): “I like this stage, but I struggled a bit to keep it in the line in the beginning. We lost a bit of time, but near the end it was better. [tyres?]Let's see in the third stage which is the longest and the most abrasive"

Car #55 J.Mcerlean - E. Treacy (Ford Puma Rally1): “It was OK, I did clean a lot and I was not using the full width of the road. Still a lot more to go. [How is it after a good result in Portugal?]It is nice to go to another rally with the same characteristics. Hopefully same again in this rally"

Car #20 Y.Rossel - A.Dunand (Citroen C3): “For sure it is never easy. I tried to push, but not like crazy guys. When you are in the car it seems like you lose a lot of time but it was a clean run for me. We need to be calm and stay focused on my target"

Car #21 O.Solberg - E.Edmondson  (Toyota GR Yaris): “With the hard tyres it was very slippery. It did not give me a lot of confidence, hopefully it works for the loop. It is so narrow and with two spares the rear end slides a little bit. It is time to learn how it is when it is so narrow".

Car #26 R.Korhonen - A Viinikka (Toyota GR Yaris Rally2): “Not good at all. Really very slippery, it was difficult to find a good rhythm because the car was sliding a lot... Not so good, but we tried our best. [fighting for the WRC2 win?]Good question, I do not know but of course we will try"
