Alghero (SS), May 30, 2024 - The 2024 Rally Italia Sardegna is set to begin, with the event organized by the Automobile Club d'Italia and supported by the Regione Autonoma della Sardegna. It will feature comprehensive television coverage from start to finish, concluding on Sunday, June 2.

Tomorrow, Friday, May 31, the shakedown begins at 8:00 with race-configured car tests in Ittiri. The competition kicks off at 13:30 with the first four special stages: "Osilo - Tergu" (25.65 km) at 14:33 and 17:33; "Sedini - Castelsardo" (13.26 km) at 15:33 and 18:35. Then, the teams will return to Alghero for service at 20:15, followed by an overnight break. Saturday will be the longest day, starting at 5:45, with eight special stages scheduled. Sunday will feature the final leg with four stages, culminating in the finish line at 15:30 near the Bastioni in Alghero.

RAI 2, RAI Sport, Sky, and Rally.tv will cover every phase of the FIA World Rally Championship's Italian round.

The sixth round of the FIA World Rally Championship enters its peak phase today with the opening ceremony and city parade in Alghero, a Catalan city whose waterfront hosts the service park, where several side activities enrich the packed schedule, continuing until Sunday, June 2. The final podium ceremony will take place at 15:30 at the Bastioni.

RAI will broadcast six programs starting with the TG2 news segment this afternoon at 18:30. RAI Sport will air one-hour live broadcasts of the "Sedini - Castelsardo" special stages on Friday, May 31 at 18:30, and on Saturday, June 1 at 15:00 and 18:00 for the "Coiluna - Loelle" stages. On Sunday, June 2, the first stage of "Sassari - Argentiera" will be broadcast at 9:00, with the Power Stage broadcast from 12:00 to 13:30. At 16:00, RAI 2 will air a live 50-minute program featuring interviews with the main participants and winners.

Leading the FIA World Rally Championship standings is the Belgian crew from Hyundai Shell Mobis WRT, Thierry Neuville, and Martin Wydaeghe in the i20 N Rally1 Hybrid. The Korean team's lineup includes Ott Tanak and Martin Jarveoja, who are third in the overall standings, and Dani Sordo and Candido Carrera. Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT is fielding three GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrids with the British crew Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin - at the second place in the overall standings - the multi-champion Sebastien Ogier with Vincent Landais, and the Japanese driver Takamoto Katsuta with Irish co-driver Aaron Johnston. M-Sport Ford WRT will deploy two Puma Rally1 Hybrids, driven by the French duo Adrien Formaux and Alexandre Coria and the Luxembourgish driver Gregoire Munster with Louis Louka.
