The 15th anniversary of the Rally Italia Sardegna, event organized by Automobile Club d’Italia with the partnership of Regione Sardegna, will be celebrated on the same itinerary that has been devised for the past two editions of the rally in the north of the island.
The seventh round of the World Rally Championship is scheduled for next June 7-10 and confirmed its headquarters in Alghero for the fifth year running. Service park will take place again in the “catalan” town in between the piers of the touristic harbour, the “ramblas” and Piazzale della Pace, while press room, race direction and the headquarter of the rally will be housed again on the prestigious venue of Lu Qualté.
Drivers will go through the shakedown in Olmedo Monte Baranta (3,97 km) on Thursday June 7th and then will kick off the race with the Super Special Stage Ittiri Arena (2 km) at local 18. The rally will resume on Friday June 8th in the morning with 20 tests split in three legs for a total of 317,32 competitive kms. The itinerary of edition 2018 will include 8 stages (4 to be repeated twice) on day one. Namely, Tula (22,32 km), Castelsardo (14,55 km), Tergu-Osilo (14,14 km) and Olmedo (11,08 km) for a total of 124,18 km competitive.
Saturday June 9th will then feature 149,10 km including two loops (the second live on TV) on the Monte Lerno (21,60 km), Monti di Alà (37,30 km) and Coiluna-Loelle (14,95 km). In between the loops, the Ittiri Arena (1,40 km). The program of Sunday June 10th will comprise 42,04 i km competitive split in two loops of the Cala Flumini (14,06 km) and the power stage Sassari-Argentiera (6,96 km), the latter to go live on TV from 12.18. Only then we will know for sure the winner of the 15th edition of the Italian round of the World Rally Championship, that will, as tradition, jump in the water of the Alghero harbour with the whole team.
